Yay God!

Gosh, I love God. He's so faithful and amazing. I just can't get over Him! I had an amazing divine appointment with a woman at Target today. It was very simple yet incredibly powerful, and I'll tell you why. Two things have been weighing on my heart (in a good way) lately: First, that I need to make a more concerted effort to share the love and hope of Christ with this world. It is utterly unfair and frankly, a crime for me to hoard the riches of His grace and power and blessing while the rest of the world is crying out for answers, wondering whether they matter to anyone, especially to God. Second, it has specificly been on my heart to touch just one person for God every day. If every time I went out into the city (the grocery store, post office, whatever), I impacted one life, shared with one person the love of God through praying for them or just telling them that God sees them, loves them, and understands them, I would be moving one step closer to seeing the kingdoms of this world become the Kingdom of our God. That stirs me up! So, having those things in mind and knowing that I'd be doing some errands today, this morning I asked the Lord to set up some divine appointments for me today. Though it's often intimidating to talk or pray with a total stranger, I'm making an effort to always be walking in the knowledge of His covering over me and in the power and love of His Spirit. So I went to Target! And during the course of my shopping time, The Lord highlighted this one woman to me. I had seen some other people who I could've talked to but I was particularly drawn to her...my heart was pulled in her direction by the compassion and affection of the Lord. So, after she went through the checkstand, I stopped her and said, "This might sound a bit strange but I was wondering if you need prayer for anything? God pointed you out to me while you were shopping and I felt like He wanted me to tell you that He loves you." She looked surprised, in a good way, and said "Well, I don't need prayer for anything but thank you so much. I was a bit disappointed but told her to have a blessed Christmas and headed out to my car. Only a few moments later she came running out after me and said, "I just have to tell you thank you again! You made my day!" I made her day! :D I didn't pray or prophesy or say anything profound. I just...told her God loves her. And it changed her outlook on the day entirely.

Do you ever hear secular songs that grab you by surprise, like "Woah! That is GOD talking, right there!" Every so often I hear one of those, and I find myself saying, "This artist has no idea that they are releasing the heart of God with that song!" Well, I heard one a few weeks ago that has rocked my heart, and my outlook on what it takes to impact someone's life. The song was You Are Loved by Josh Groban (check it out online www.joshgroban.com, access the audio player at the top left and select this song)...

Don't give up...
It's just the weight of the world.
When you're heart's heavy, I will lift it for you.
Don't give up because you want to be heard...
If silence keeps you, I will break it for you.

Everybody wants to be understood...
Well, I can hear you.
Everybody wants to be loved...
Don't give up, because you are loved!

Don't give up, it's just the hurt that you hide...
When you're lost inside, I'll be there to find you.
Don't give up because you want to burn bright...
If darkness blinds you, I will shine to guide you.

Everybody wants to be understood...
Well, I can hear you.
Everybody wants to be loved...
Don't give up, because you are loved!
You are loved! Don't give up!
Everyone needs to be heard...You are loved!

Is that prophetic or what!? I stress so much over what I'll say and what if the person thinks I'm weird or what if they don't get healed when I pray but really it just comes down to this simple thing...everybody is longing to hear that they are loved and understood and heard.

Period.

It is in the heart of every person on the planet to be known and valued. They are desperate for an answer to the questions in their hearts, and if the world had the answer, people would've stopped asking a long time ago. But the world cannot give them what they really want. We have the answer. So, let's take it to the streets.

Tell just one person every day that God loves them.

Living for love,

Melissa
